Spurr Audio Unveils the OSCIX VSM
A Sonic Journey into the Heart of Analog Telecommunications
Spurr Audio proudly introduces the OSCIX VSM (Virtual Sound Modeler), a modulation platform inspired by the quiet mystery of analog telecommunications and the emotional atmosphere of late-20th-century technology.
More than a chorus pedal, the OSCIX VSM is an exploration of memory, texture, and movement — designed for musicians searching for sounds that feel both nostalgic and futuristic.

Inspired by the Silence of the Giants
The OSCIX VSM was born from the image of massive satellite dishes hidden among wooded landscapes — silent structures once responsible for carrying voices, television broadcasts, and signals across continents during the 1980s and 1990s.
These towering Earth Stations, now almost forgotten, inspired the pedal’s identity: industrial, atmospheric, and strangely peaceful.
The OSCIX VSM pays tribute to that era of telecommunications, where glowing monitors, drifting frequencies, and analog imperfections created a uniquely human relationship with technology.
The Virtual Sound Modeler Engine
At the core of the OSCIX VSM is its Virtual Sound Modeler engine, featuring 8 distinct waveform modes designed to move beyond traditional chorus territory.
An integrated display acts as a visual monitor for the modulation engine, echoing the diagnostic screens found in vintage telecom control rooms. The result is an experience that feels alive and interactive — as if the pedal itself were tuning into distant transmissions.
From smooth modulation to unstable pitch movement, the OSCIX VSM offers a broad palette of textures for ambient players, experimental musicians, shoegaze artists, and lovers of lo-fi sound design.

Depth+, Shimmer, and Expansive Atmospheres
One of the defining features of the OSCIX VSM is the Depth+ architecture — an immersive spatial engine that transforms the pedal into far more than a conventional chorus.
The integrated reverb can function independently or blend seamlessly with the modulation section, creating lush ambient environments and drifting harmonic trails.
When paired with the Shift function, the pedal enters shimmering territory, producing ethereal upper harmonics reminiscent of signals dissolving through the atmosphere.
The result is spacious, cinematic, and deeply atmospheric.
Nostalgic Imperfection: Vibe and Warble
The OSCIX VSM embraces imperfection as part of its sonic identity.
Vibe Mode removes the dry signal entirely, leaving behind a haunting modulation texture filled with movement and instability.
Meanwhile, the Warble control introduces drifting pitch fluctuations inspired by worn VHS tapes, aging cassette machines, and unstable analog broadcasts. Subtle tracking irregularities and “popcorn” artifacts give the pedal a distinct lo-fi personality without sacrificing musicality.
These imperfections are intentional — a tribute to the warmth and unpredictability of vintage media.
Designed as an Experience
Every visual element of the OSCIX VSM reflects its conceptual roots: telecommunications interfaces, industrial hardware, CRT-era displays, and forgotten monitoring equipment.
The pedal was designed not only as a sound tool, but as an object that feels connected to a lost technological era.
It is a bridge between modern pedalboard functionality and the emotional resonance of obsolete machines.
