Dionisio, founder of Nixh e Hijos, has spent more than ten years crafting handmade guitar and bass pickups in Guadalajara, Mexico. Having followed his work for some time, I can confidently say that his attention to detail, consistency, and commitment to quality are evident in every piece he creates.
From carefully selected materials to a hands on manufacturing process, Nixh e Hijos represents a decade of experience dedicated to helping musicians find their voice.
Here's Dionisio's story in his own words.
My name is Dionisio “Nixh,” and for more than ten years I have been dedicated to the handcrafted manufacturing of pickups for electric guitar and bass. What began as a passion for understanding how an instrument’s sound is shaped eventually became a workshop where every piece is built with patience, dedication, and attention to detail.
At Nixh e Hijos, I believe a great pickup starts with carefully selected materials. That is why I use quality wire, chosen magnets, and reliable components that allow me to deliver a consistent and long-lasting product. Every pickup is wound and assembled through a combination of traditional craftsmanship and mechanical precision, with every stage of the process personally supervised.
Over the years, I have learned that small details make a significant difference, especially when it comes to the quality of the elements that make up a pickup. For that reason, I dedicate the necessary time to each project, aiming to help every musician find the tone they hear in their head.
My goal is to create musical tools with their own identity, capable of inspiring the people who use them. Whether the objective is vintage sounds, classic tones, or more modern sonic approaches, I work to build pickups that deliver dynamics, clarity, and personality.
After a decade of work, the same idea continues to guide every piece that leaves the workshop: to build quality pickups by hand, using carefully selected materials and a commitment to delivering a sound that does justice to each customer’s music.
